2nd Sleepless Night

I had the feeling it was still morning, when it was actually 4'o clock during the afternoon.

We resumed our working stations, and carried on for another night. Other groups are around as well, with objectives similar to ours. Being in separated classrooms, we take advantage of Twitter to contact with each other, and see who would be the first one to express lack of sleep by posting nonsense. I still tried to take over Friends&Feeds, but nobody seemed to care. What is the point of being an overlord with no audience?

_Cat and I engaged in a duel to see who could post the most ridiculous flash animation/video, after I publicly expressed via Twitter my desires to torture my group mates with more Touhou awesomeness. She won, by posting this thing I cannot even describe.

My routine was similar to the previous night: work on animations, listen to the same songs ranging between heavy metal, techno and even demoscene, visit my coworkers and loot their food. Another group mate decided to join me in the solitude chamber, helping me with animation effects, until he noticed something peculiar, and called my attention.

"Ey Rose, look at this."

"... what the f-"

The flash file we're using had a house has a background, and I drew several layers with diferent animations of the same dummie character, grouped in individual movie clips. My partner pressed "Test Movie", and we're gretted with a massive rave party inside the house, with all animations working in simultaneous. It quickly ocorred to me that I could spare at least fifteen minutes to turn the silent rave party into a massive disco feast. All I needed to do was use the same materials I used for the Garfield Party Comic.

And this was the mind damaging result.

Meanwhile, everything else went as normaly as expected. Those who weren't programing or drawing, were glueing down those nice patterns for yet another project of ours. There was no hobo in sight this time, but I took some photos for posteriority.

Another group, in the classroom next to ours.

And the desk where I was camping. And yes kids, that's an Intuos 4.

We're tired. It had been an amusing, but long night. And we had a presetation in a couple of hours.

The Aftermath

If my calculations are correct, I only slept 5-6 hours from these 48h rush period. I'm surprised I'm still awake, staring at the screen while typing this. My braincells are screaming, literally.

Our presentation didn't go as brightly as we had hoped. Our teachers expected to see much more from our game in action. Long story short, we worked hard during the entire semester, kept showing work in progress, we had a complex game design document, and a 30 pages storyboard I made myself. We created high expectations, and they're displeased.

It's hard to look at my coworkers and see them disapointed as well. Especially our main programmer girl, who struggled against codes, and had to learn new tricks in record time in order to have most of the basic ingame fuctions avaiable. As for me, I'm already used to return from morbid presentations during the Design course, so I wasn't as affected as them.

And right now, we're in the middle of yet another presentation. The teacher is speaking with us right now (and yes, I'm listening while I'm typing), and sounds like we still have a lot to do until Wednesday.
I'm returning to my homeland this weekend, and come back for a short battle next monday.

Also, not too long ago, we had a meeting with our teachers for the thesis projects, and soon we'll have a list for us to consult. I have yet to take a look at the other themes, but so far, the only one I saw which interested me, was a call for a game development project in an university in Greece.

This isn't going to be easy.
